Morning as I was
having my tea, my old friend Gopal called to ask me to accompany him to take
delivery of his new car. In this Covid time it was a pleasant surprise which I
shared with 2 of our common friends Nitin & Vijay. Nitin resided near my
house & agreed to accompany me to take delivery. Vijay could not come to
the showroom as he stayed far away but he requested that we come to his place
directly after taking delivery of the car.
As we got delivery of
the car we all agreed that it calls for a celebration. Gopal reluctantly agreed
for a party when we convinced him to give a token Misal party at a very special
Maharashtrian Dhaba we knew. We also
coerced him to pick Vijay from his residence in Ghatkopar so that a trial drive
of the new car could be done.
A grand occasion
became a get together of childhood friends. Vijay was a great foodie & as
he got into the car he directed Gopal to take a route. We all got talking about
the new car, weather & other old friend talks. By the time Gopal realised
we were halfway to Lonavla. It was a very pleasant drive in slight drizzle
surrounded by full greenery.
Driving to Lonavla on
a cloudy rainy day with a steady drizzle with greenery all around was very
uplifting & refreshing. It was more pleasant because it was an unplanned
trip. Off Lonavala via Brahmanwada phata is this superb dhaba named Pranjal
Misal.
It serves the best
misal I have ever tasted. I am grateful that Vijay introduced me to this place.
Like me Vijay is also a foodie & likes to explore new & distinct food
joints. Pranjal is a family operated dhaba & serves really hot super tasty
Misal, Usal, Thalipeeth, Kanda Bhajiyas
& other Maharashtrian snack dishes.

hot spicy Misal, Kanda Bhajiyas & other savouries on a cold misty rainy day
accompanied by hot ginger laced masala Tea satiated us to the core & filled
us with divine bliss. This was an unforgettable memorable day & the thing
which made it special was the unplanned nature of the trip. The Taste of this
trip will always linger in our tongue & senses.

DeleteWow so nostalgic. A long drive in the rains with your close friends is nothing less than a blessing. And to top it with piping hot tea must be a bliss. Very well depicted had a virtual experience.

ReplyDeleteReallly , it must a wonderfull experience eating Misal in rainy day & with friends.... Now a days these dhabas are not serving only Misal, but alongwith that they serve many additional items with some sweet dish....
