My childhood was like
teaching us life lessons,
to never give up trying,
always adjust to extract,
the best from what you have,
we enjoyed had fun,
we didn’t let disturbance
spoil our zest for life,
tuning to catch clear frequency,
was a talent to proudly flaunt,
teaching us nuances of patience,
spirit to never tire of trying,
efforts were never in vain,
smooth wavelength
we always gained,
giving us bliss peace & joy,
sweet lilting melodious music,
taught us harmony is life,
acrimony should be temporary,
never be integral part of life,
struggling with limited options,
we valued what we had in hand,
scarcity taught us resilience,
constraints of resources,
egged us to reinvent,
learned to overlook obstacles,
always trying to repair & mend,
never easily throwing away,
reuse as much as we can,
believed in reviving than replacing,
motto that pepped up our lives;
I am still not able to remove,
my childhood habits out of me,
ingrained in my psyche, has
become an integral part of me,
younger generation identify this,
as remnants of our obsolescence,
grip of nostalgia binds our senses,
old things we seldom part,
still like to cling on to
sweet memories of past,
sentimental values bond
every object in the house,
has an emotional story to tell,
behind every satisfaction of want,
string of sweet memories keep
beads of emotions attached,
out of tune in today tech life,
I am sure most of my age,
would be feeling the same,
front leg taking a stride
to firmly live in the present,
with balancing back leg,
rooted to valuable benefits
