NURTURING FUTURE

Parenting has
taken
a paradigm shift
in style,
adjusting to
modern day life,
distraction of
cartoons,
enticing
flickering screen
is need of the
hour,
compensating for
stressed
parents precious
time,
in today’s hectic
work life,
casualty is
togetherness,
devotion to
family time,
bonding time they
get,
is utilised to satisfy
whims
tantrums &
fancy wishes,
to satiate
child’s desire,
to see pampering
parents
at their beck and
call;
Old method of
pampering,
devoting quality
time,
feeding children with
loads of good
habits,
cajoling them
with love,
coaxing them to
be caring
sharing things
with siblings,
enriching them
with values
of customs and
traditions,
nourishing them
with
benefits of good
thoughts,
to own onus of
obligations,
not shirking
responsibilities,
grooming them to
be
upright and
responsible,
is now old
fashioned,
thing of the
past;
Constraints of
peer pressure,
takes a premium
on life,
in this nuclear
family trend,
parenting &
work they juggle,
bypassing
established customs,
on strength of financial
stability,
services are at
their beck & call,
has emboldened to
outsource,
grooming &
filial duties
to professional
trained hands,
for focussed
progress & growth,
feeding packaged nutrition
to fine tune
modern day traits,
like a programmed
robot,
focussed on
self-progress,
ignoring other
needs;
Belief is gaining
ground,
sensitive
obedient soft,
attributes are
losing out,
go getter
assertive thoughts,
are accepted
norms, in this
competitive cut
throat world,
trained on a
one-point agenda,
to carve personal
niche,
to be high on the
pedestal,
in community
hierarchy,
we hope our child
stands out
in the milling
crowd,
not as a lone
wolf, nose
arrogantly turned
up,
sniffing
intoxicating success,
but a socially
affable amiable
gentle humble humane being.
