WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Like a sofa cum bed, ours was
a love cum arranged marriage,
nestling in a comfy cozy corner,
of a bustling joint family,
having comfort of liberty of
choosing own life partner, but
restricted by familial norms,
adjusting in every step,
without stepping on others toes,
nor encroaching on others space,
even in that limited place,
we were able to spread our arms
to touch the sky of progress,
stretching our legs to sprint
to gain a firm foothold,
in the race of life;
Today is our 41st Wedding Anniversary,
a celestially predestined marriage,
of a commerce graduate, working
for a readymade garment firm,
meeting a medical person,
in a Bank as colleague,
casual acquaintance led to
general meeting of thoughts,
brief courtship led to mature
mutual understanding,
resulting in marriage of conjugal bliss,
of persons from different fields,
steered to come together,
guided by the Almighty’s strings;
We are truly blessed by the
power of silent shielding hand,
helping us overcome severe crisis,
pulling us out of troubled times,
standing as shield of support,
for us to be still active,
full of zest, in the
with the grace of God,
stretched out comfortably
relaxed in a soft rosy bed,
giving way to adjustments
of a sofa cum bed life,
satiated and contented,
proud of our child’s achievements,
satisfied of our attempt
at fulfilling obligations,
happy to see positive result of
our shouldered responsibilities,
praying for the same unstinted
benevolence from the Lord,
for the rest of our Life, to live a
Healthy Peaceful Humane Life.
