FURY OF NATURE

Life was sailing smoothly,

as river of prosperity

was flowing thru

the village of life;

Whose water seeps

through pores of land,

nourishing roots

blossoming trees

flowering lands

feeding the people

cooling breeze

spreading scent

mingling benefits

to young & old alike;

Nature’s bounties

are source of

peace, fun & joy,

lulling our senses

to take things for granted,

we only expect

we forget to respect;

Fury of nature,

Suddenly strikes,

life’s current gets stronger,

climbing its limits,

over flowing banks,

encroaching lands,

engulfing trunks,

uprooting nourished roots,

crushing plants,

destroying bloom,

gusty winds blows out gaiety,

whistling chilling fear;

Swirling water,

flushing dwellings,

destroying beliefs,

jolting people,

out of their reverie

of sense of security,

of serene bliss,

destroying faith,

destroying rhythm,

leaving a scar,

as a reminder for life,

that turmoil can turn

normal life

topsy turvy

upside down;

Abnormal,

we should care

be prepared for,

to lead normal life.

DAHISAR & ME GREW TOGETHER More than 70 years ago my Grandparents, Paternal (Bedi’s) & Maternal (Punjabi’s), settled in Dahisar. Dahisar, an idyllic village was the entry point station of Mahanagar Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay. Dahisar was a small village within a mega city.
