REALISATION OF COVID PATIENT

I realised the

worth of a breath, when

with weakening strength,

losing breath, energy

fast draining out my life

I was lead to an ambulance;

I realised the value

of loving family,

as my wife tried

to put in me some life,

feeding me courage,

with encouraging words,

reminding me

my will to fight,

while fending her

despair, hiding fear,

fighting tears;

I realised the power

of created fear,

from ambulance

I was whisked, to

eerie alien world

called isolation ward,

I was spooked, zoombies

from outer space,

fully covered in white,

surrounded me,

shock was greater, than

the trauma of my virus;

I realised that

the real sufferers

are our dear ones,

my son instantly grew

from child to a man,

with support of his spouse,

boldly shouldered onus

of helming my care;

I realised,

severity of my virus

is nothing in front of

my wife's sufferings,

quarantined, enduring

loneliness, social stigma,

mental stress, fighting fears,

fending imaginary demons,

able but helpless, ostracized,

caged in the flat,

family all around

but nobody to help;

I realised that

humanity is still alive,

seeing hospital staff,

risking own life,

dedicatedly devoted,

suffocating n struggling,

trapped in PPE suit,

suffering a lot,

still nursing us

back to health,

with not a hint

of rue & strife;

I realised, by God`s grace,

how lucky I am,

surrounded by precious gems,

finding time, in today's time,

for wishing, praying

fervently, for my well being,

my speedy recovery;

I realised that patient

is not the only sufferer,

trauma is spread wide across,

affecting loved ones,

family friends well wishers;

I hope & pray,

this bond of love,

should always grow,

strengthening ties, giving

more meaning to life.
